HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!!!

We celebrated Papa's 36th birthday yesterday!!!! And our good friend Joe's too - he shares a birthday with Papa! So we had a party at the house for the birthday boys and invited the Umland's and the Bonello's. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed yummy ice cream cake (thanks Nancy) and wine.

Birthday Boys!!!

Here are some pics of the party....

After the party, I went to sleep and Grandma Judy stayed with me so Mama could take Papa out for a fancy birthday dinner. They went to Iredescence at the top of the Motor City Casino in Detroit. It was irresistable! They had a very special evening - it was their first time out alone in Detroit since last July!!! Thanks again Grandma Judy!!!

Happy birthday Papa! Je t'aime!

Sunny Florida

Last week I was in Florida to visit my Grandma and lots of aunts, cousins and friends. Someone get me a family tree!

Grandma greeted us at the airport and she loved my shirt "That's it! I'm going to Grandma's". Isnt that the truth!

Grandma has two adorable kitty cats and I had the best time chasing them around the house, pulling their hair and startling them with my high pitched squeals. Grandma told me to be gentle but....

How could I resist faces like these!

The next day Grandma had to work and I caught a cold so Aunt Cheryl took a day off of work to spend time with me. We had so much fun and she couldnt believe how big I got.

The next day I was still sick, but so were my cousins so we played together for a little bit. Christopher showed me how to play with lots of toys and I met my little cousin Dylan for the first time.

Then Mommy's dear friend Michelle came over and spoiled me with lots of love.

Mama and Papa took advantage of Grandma's offer to babysit me and went out a couple of times. Aliea and her boyfriend Victor took them to a super cozy and trendy restaurant in Delray Beach. They drank delicious martinis, ate a yummy dinner and enjoyed a nice evening out on the town.

One night, we took Grandma out for an early birthday dinner since we wont be in Florida to celebrate with her on her special day. I always have such a blast when Grandma is around. Hey, didn't anyone take a picture of the belly dancers?

After 4 days of very windy weather, the winds finally calmed enough for us to hit the beach. I loved the beach...lots of kids playing, birds flying, and waves trying to tickle my feet.
Papa even swam in the cool Atlantic, but Mama and I stayed dry.

I grew quite tired since I was way too excited to take an afternoon nap. Grandma snuggled with me until it was time to go home.

But on the way home, Mama asked Grandma to stop at Jackson's, a famous old-fashioned ice cream parlour that she hadnt been to since her 13th birthday. That was a loooooooooong time ago. So, to mark the occasion, I got my very first taste of ice cream. It gave me brain freeze and every time I tried some, I turned my head away. But I came back for more bites....

The next day, Mama organized a neighborhood reunion with her childhood friends. Despite the cool weather, it was a blast. Mama and Grandma enjoyed seeing everyone and I liked playing with all the kids.

Mama and Papa took turns walking around with me to keep me busy.

On our last day, we went to Mullins Park, where Mama used to go for cheerleading, and where I got to swing on a baby swing! I LOVED it!

Afterwards we met up with all of my aunts, uncles and cousins and had a nice hibachi dinner. My family is a lot of fun and everyone laughed a lot. I sure wish I could see everyone more often.

I am a very busy baby these days (Mama refuses to call me a toddler yet - she is in denial!). Mama took a few pictures of my day so you can see how big I am getting.

First, when I wake up from naps, I am usually standing up in my crib or bouncing up and down (see below).

I love to play with remotes (I am just like my Papa) and the phone. Mama is afriad I am going to call China someday. Papa calls information and says silly names at the prompt just so I can laugh!

I kinda sorta like to eat now, but I just wish Mama would give me grapes and only grapes. Why do I need to eat anything else?

I roll balls around the house all day long. It is my favorite thing to do. Throughout the day and at the end of the night, Mama has to search the house and find all my balls so I can play with them. I think it is pretty funny. I like to roll balls under doors and under furniture just for this reason. Hee hee!

My Mamie's good friend Ann send me this outfit. Isnt it cute?

Here I am playing in my toy room. I have so much fun in here.

I had a Valentine's Day party with all my favorite little friends from my playgroup. I tried to give Colin a kiss but he wasn't interested. I am not sure why...Mommy and Papa love my drooly kisses.
Aiden has a rocking horse and it is so cool. I love bouncing up and down on the horse - I gotta get one of these!

On Valentine's Day, Mama and Papa went to a new French Cafe in Detroit called Le Petite Zinc. It was delicious!

Pig Tails

Mama has given me a new look now that my hair is getting long.  I liked the palm tree before but Daddy thinks I'm irresistible with my new tails.  What do you guys think?  :-D

Baby Crusin'

Mommy and me have been very busy lately, so there hasnt been much time to update the blog. But let me tell you, I play all day long. I am standing so well and cruising the couch and ottomans. I can do it by myself, but I like a little help just to make sure I don't fall down.

Here I am riding my car - Papa is so proud, though not thrilled one bit that my vehicle was made in China.

Look Ma, no hands!

I am also getting awfully nosy these days. What can I say, I'm inquisitive. I love to look through Mama's purse and find her keys and wallet. Here I am looking in MY diaper bag (note: NOT Mama's) for something to play with.

My best friend is Hope, my neighbor across the street. She cracks me up. We giggle like crazy when we see each other and then try to poke each other's eyes or pull on hair. We don't know much about social etiquette and have no concept of sharing, but we still have a blast!
