Just Little Me!

Here are some photos of me last month just hanging out.

Mr. Black Bear is my favorite friend right now. I like to play with him first thing in the morning and chew on his nose.

Did I mention that I am on the road to crawling. I love to sit on all fours and rock back and forth. Mommy and Papa think that I will probably start crawling backwards. We'll see!

Oh, and playing with my feet is tons of fun. I especially like to take my socks off and put them in my mouth. Eiw!

I am sleeping very well these days, much to Mommy's delight. Here I am in my Pack-n-Play sleeping with my baby. I usually fall asleep with one or both arms over my head or across my face!

A Date in August

This place is very familiar to me. We have walked (some of us have strolled) from our house to the coffee shop many times since I was born. We all love to sip on a nice nipple or a hot coffee and hang out. Daddy told me that this is what us Corsicans do best especially when the weather is nice: hang out. Daddy said that one day he will take me to the Rex Lounge in Corsica where hanging out is taken to a professionnal level.

This was also the location of Mommy and Daddy’s first date nine years ago already. Coffee for dinner? Either Daddy was extremely French to drink coffee even for dinner or he was extremely cheap. And to think I might have not existed… Dad was working late and even on the mighty Ducati, he could not help but to be 30 minutes late. Thankfully (for me especially), Mommy patiently waited. The rest as they say is history.

Sadly enough, we haven't had time to celebrate too much. I have a little fever and a runny nose, Mommy is down and out and I think I started it all...

Family Reunion in the Great Land of Cheese

Last week, we drove to Milwaukee for a family reunion! I had a fabulous time meeting family and hanging out. We did so much and Mommy and Papa took so many photos that we can only skim the surface.

First, we met Roberta and Anna Mae for lunch in Milwaukee's Third Ward. The first photo is of Anna Mae, me and Mommy. The next photo is of Grandma, Jennifer, Mommy and Roberta. They had such a fun time....and I did too!

The Third Ward is an old warehouse district on the edge of downtown. Now it is full of lofts, shoppes, restaurants and bars.

Then Uncle Denny and Aunt Mary had us over for dinner and I got to meet my cousins Mike and Dave. Here are Aunt Mary, Mommy and cousin Dave. Aunt Mary made me a special doll to keep - it is sooo pretty! Uncle Denny held me a lot...my Daddy thinks he is super cool!

Here are Mommy and Grandma. I think they drank too much wine! Cousin Mike and Mommy hung out too.

They day of the reunion, Auntie Jennifer suggested we stop by a motorcycle rally in one of Milwaukee's cool neighborhoods. Soon after we got there, we were pulled aside by a cop! Of course it was Officer Klein (AKA cousin Roberta)!!!!! She was on patrol that morning!

Next we headed to the reunion. Here I am with Mommy and Grandma. Then one of my favorite pics of Grandma, me, cousin Ashley, Mommy and Auntie Jennifer. We had so much fun hanging out!

Even though it was early August, we were in Wisconsin and it was cold. Even native cheeseheads were reaching for their sweaters. However, Mommy and Papa listened to the weather report, which called for 78 degrees, and didn't bring mine, so Mommy had to improvise. I wish I had a cute hoodie like Ashley had!

Becki, Mitch and Anna were there too! In fact, I giggled so hard watching Anna dance to polka music. I can't wait to see Anna again and play!

Here is another picture of Mommy, Ashley and me and of me and Grandma.

The rest of our time in Milwaukee was spent eating yummy food and ice cream and taking long walks along the lakefront with Jennifer and Roberta.

On our last day, Grandma took Mommy to see where my Grandpa grew up. It was a really neat house and beautiful farm. Where is the hill that Grandpa said he had to climb uphill both ways to school in ten feet of snow when he was a little boy?

We were so thankful that Auntie Jennifer hosted us at her apartment for our vacation. I had a lot of fun and had no problems sleeping, except for the last night when I woke up at 4 am. Oops!

I will miss Grandma the most though...she and I have a special bond.

And I think I finally figured out that the pretty baby in the mirror is me!

Kisses

A week or two ago, I gave my first real kiss to Mommy. At first she thought I was trying to eat her chin, but Grandma explained that this is how babies give kisses. I guess I am supposed to keep my mouth closed, but what fun is that? On a related note, I dont think there anywhere more comfortable than Papa's chest. This is why Mommy and Papa call me Snugglebug!

7 Months Old!

Okay, I am almost 8 months old now, but I have to tell everyone how big I am! I am somewhere between 29-30" long - Mommy has a difficult time getting an exact measurement because I am a wiggle worm, especially when she tries to hold me still (this is also true for diaper changes, putting on clothes, etc.). I weigh about 17 pounds 6 ounces based on our scale at home.

To give you an idea of how big I am, check this out:

Here I am in my infant car seat at the hospital when I was just 5 days old. Look at all that hair!

Here I am in the same car seat when I was 10 weeks old. I am wearing a hat because it is cold, but also because most of my hair had fallen out!

And here I am now in the infant car seat....I outgrew it! I also drool a lot more than I used to, but I have teeth coming in so I have an excuse!!!!

My First Trip to the Zoo

A few weeks ago, Mommy and I met Andi and Evan (and baby girl in Andi's belly) for my very first trip to the zoo! My favorite things to do at the zoo are people watching, the bear fountain and the ducks we saw swimming in the lake. The Detroit Zoo is so pretty and only 2 miles from my house. Why did Mommy wait so long to take me. Well, now we have a year long membership so we go at least once a week.

Mommy and me post with Evan in front of the bears. I think Andi's sunglasses look fabulous on Evan...and so did he!

Okay so I am not always so interested in the animals. Hey, I'm only 7 months old and my hands are feet as still the coolest things on earth. Here I am with Mommy in my Baby Bjorn carrier - I can see everything!

Mommy loves the giraffes, but their tongues are 22" long - longer than my whole body when I was born. Eiw!

The bear....who inspired the bear fountain.

The gardens are really beautiful.
