HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA and UNCLE DAVE!!!!!

So many March birthdays to celebrate! First, Happy Birthday to PAPA!!!! I crawled into Papa's bed this morning to give him a nice big birthday kiss! I love my Papa sooooo much! He makes me laugh like no one can, and we both love cars and motorcycles, salty chips, and hanging out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

Today is my Grandma's 63rd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!!!!

I've had some super fun times with Grandma in my 27 months....

She was the third person I EVER met!!!!!

She was there for my Baptism and helped Mama plan a super fun party in my honor!

I visited Grandma in Florida several times. Here we are at the airport last year.

Grandma spent some time with us in Grand Haven last summer and we bonded a lot!

I love you Grandma and hope you had a fabulous day! Can't wait to see you this spring!

Love,
Natalie

Mazel Tov Emily!

Last weekend, we went to our friend and neighbor Emily's Bat Mitvah! It was our family's first, and boy did we have fun! The party was held at the Livonia Rec Center, which has rock climbing, a gym, and a super cool pool with big slides, a hot tub, and a lazy river. We hung out with our friends Jeff, Francesca and Allie for much of the night, which was AWESOME! Here we are after the party....did I look sleepy or what?

I stayed in the pool for an hour! My hands, feet and lips were purple, but I had no intention of getting out! It was just like summer inside - 80 degrees! But yeah, my blood is thin like Mama's so the 80 degree water was awfully chilly.

Why would I want to leave? Francesca and Allie were there and played with me and Papa in the pool. I LOVE hanging out with the big girls!

Allie was amazing as she reached the top of the gigantic climbing wall!!! We cheered her on!

Papa didn't make it so far, however. We cheered (laughed is more accurate) Papa on too!

Thawing Out

Days are getting warmer and brighter, and boy am I excited! Today, Mama and I walked up to the park for the first time this year! As you can tell, I LOVED it!!!!

I even remembered how to get to the park! So now I know my way to the library, rec center, and the park! Oh and of course I know how to get home from those places too. Am I a smart girl or what?

Conditions at the park, however, weren't so great. There is still 4" of snow on the ground, so the ground and park equipment were quite slippery. But it was still nice to stretch my legs!

Here is me last March on the swing....

...and here is me today! Mama says that this summer, I'm gonna learn how to go on the big girl swing cuz I am getting too big for the baby swing!

I can't wait to go to the park again this weekend! More pics to come!

Snowy February

This was the fifth snowiest February on record in Detroit! Last week, we got around 10" in our neighborhood. I usually like walking in the snow, but it is a little hard to do when the snow is so deep!

Our nice neighbors let Papa use their snowblower so I could walk around. Ah, this is better.

Mama and I were outside playing in the snow for over an hour. But I really didn't want to touch the snow...or sit in it. I was happy just walking in it and hearing the snow crunch under my feet. Meanwhile, our neighbors built a huge snowman! By the end of the week, there were 5 snowmen on my street!

So how am I supposed to pick up a shovel when I am forced to wear mittens? Having grown up in Florida, Mama is absolutely no help in these matters. I guess I'll have to learn on my own.

We went to Mt. Meldrum, which is a sledding hill our friends built off their deck! Papa and I went sledding down the hill! I thought that was pretty neat!

Now, the sun is out, all that snow is melting, and people are out walking. Spring is right around the corner, and I can't wait to head to the playground! Happy March!
